About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Housing Accounting to oversee the financial reporting and management of accounting, real estate tax, accounts payable, and support teams for a large portfolio of housing properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial results, year-end audits, and tax compliance. This role involves managing a significant number of entities, tight deadlines, and a variety of financial activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and the use of ERP and other technology enablers. The Vice President will also be tasked with maintaining a system of internal controls, leading a large team, and working cross-functionally to support the organization's mission and goals.
Candidates for the Vice President of Housing Accounting position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, with a CPA or MBA preferred, and at least 10 years' experience in the affordable housing industry. A strong background in financial management, including at least 8 years' in a management role, is required. The role demands excellent communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to navigate complex organizational and regulatory dynamics. The Vice President will be expected to demonstrate leadership, maintain a professional demeanor, and ensure that the team adheres to all relevant policies and procedures.
