Job Description
Our infrastructure team comprises passionate engineers dedicated to solving complex problems. You will work with a group building and supporting innovative software solutions for the healthcare industry. As forward-thinking technologists, we are creative and eager to learn new technologies. The VMware Engineer position requires strategic engineering and design, along with hands-on technical work. You will configure, tune, and troubleshoot enterprise-scale systems to optimize application performance, stability, and availability. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with VMware solutions including vSphere 5.x and 6.x, vCenter, SRM, vROPS, and vRealize Automation, along with excellent customer service and communication skills. Desired Skills and Experience VMware Certified Professional (VCP/VCDX) At least 7 years of experience in VMware administration, upgrading, replication, and maintenance (version 5.5 or above) Hands-on experience with VMware solutions and tools including vSphere, vCenter, SRM, vROPS, vRealize Automation Knowledge of automation tools like Chef, Ansible, Puppet Understanding of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solutions Experience with hybrid-cloud environments (vCloud Air) Experience in NSX deployment is a plus Experience with large multi-cluster VMware environments, preferably in a globally distributed setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Healthcare IT background is preferred Responsibilities: Design, document, and build complex virtualization solutions, including server, storage, and network components Test system solutions in simulated production environments, debug, and document applications and systems manuals Maintain and optimize information systems and programs, train users, and respond to user problems Configure, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere, vCenter, SRM, vROPS, and vRealize Automation Advise management on equipment requirements and problem areas Provide project, system, and technical documentation timely Focus on client satisfaction and expectation management Mentor and train team members in a collaborative environment
