Associate Attorney
to join its
Consumer Financial Services Litigation and Enforcement practice (link removed) This is a unique opportunity to advise financial services clients on complex regulatory compliance matters, respond to government inquiries and investigations, and navigate the evolving legal landscape for consumer financial products and services. The role offers exposure to high-profile regulatory and litigation matters, with opportunities to work alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Candidate Profile
JD
from a
top-tier law school
with an
excellent academic record
Active Bar Admission
in the
District of Columbia,
in good standing, or eligibility to obtain admission promptly
4-6+ years
of substantive experience in
consumer financial services law ,
regulatory compliance , and/or
litigation
Government Experience : Prior experience at
federal or state regulatory agencies
(e.g., CFPB, OCC, FTC, DOJ, or state AG offices)
Experience handling
regulatory exams ,
enforcement actions ,
policy development , and complex
litigation
matters
Familiarity with
residential mortgage regulations
is a
plus
Ability to advise clients across all levels of regulatory engagement, including responding to government inquiries and supporting internal compliance initiatives
Prior experience at an
AmLaw 100
or similarly sophisticated firm
required
Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple workstreams and client relationships efficiently
Key Responsibilities
Advise
financial services clients on
federal
and
state regulatory compliance
matters across
consumer finance products
and
services
Respond
to
government investigations ,
inquiries , and
examinations , including enforcement actions and policy reviews
Support litigation strategies
related to regulatory enforcement, consumer finance claims, and related disputes
Collaborate with partners and cross-disciplinary teams to provide strategic, business-focused legal solutions
Draft memoranda ,
regulatory filings , and other client-facing documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity
Mentor junior attorneys
and contribute to the development of team knowledge and capabilities

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive Compensation:
Annual base salary is expected to range from
$310,000 - $390,000+ , depending on experience, qualifications, and market factors.
