About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a strong management background to lead its financial activities and strategy. The CFO will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies, plans, and policies, as well as preparing financial statements, monitoring internal controls, and coordinating the annual audit process. This role also involves reviewing grant budgets, assisting with risk management, and participating in key decisions related to strategic initiatives and operational execution. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing critical financial and operational information to support actionable recommendations for both strategy and operations.
The ideal CFO for the company will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, with a preference for a CPA. A minimum of 5 years' progressive financial leadership experience, particularly in a nonprofit setting, is required. The CFO will be expected to have a strong knowledge of financial management systems, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management. Additionally, the role involves serving as a member of the executive leadership team, managing the audit preparation process, maintaining monthly financial reporting, and establishing training and coaching for the finance department. The CFO will also be involved in the development of financial planning and must be adept at handling property and liability insurances, as well as participating in communication with lenders and banks.
