Job Description
Job Summary:
The
Clinic Medical Director
provides leadership and oversight of daily operations, including scheduling, clinical management, provider engagement, patient experience, and quality improvement. The Director collaborates with physicians/providers, the Vice Chair of the area, and Practice Manager, ensuring communication regarding outpatient clinical activities, best practices, and evidence-based protocols. Fostering a culture of collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement is essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Performance Assigns clinical coverage to ensure timely patient access, aligning with hospital and Acclaim expectations. Works with Practice Managers to improve clinic efficiencies. Oversees clinical work distribution, template management, and patient access. Serves as liaison to physicians/providers to uphold high clinical standards. Communicates needs for clinical integration and performance improvement.
People Performance
Addresses team dynamics or behavioral issues with leadership. Monitors and addresses practice, quality, or behavioral standards among providers. Participates in provider performance appraisals. Assists in recruiting and staffing within the department.
Academic and Educational Activities
Supports education and professional development of learners, providing mentorship.
Financial Performance and Growth Strategies
Partners with leadership to develop and implement growth strategies. Estimates future resource needs. Participates in strategic planning and community relationship building.
Quality and Risk
Monitors quality and satisfaction metrics. Ensures compliance with federal and state directives. Communicates policies and standards to providers.
Community Engagement
Participates in community education and public relations activities.
Qualifications
Required:
MD or DO from an accredited institution, board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, Texas medical license, and at least 3 years of leadership experience in a large health system. Preferred:
Demonstrated leadership potential and experience. Skills:
