Overview
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Head of Product to lead the development and execution of our product strategy for our payroll and HCM platform. This executive will define the product vision, drive innovation, and ensure our solutions meet the evolving needs of our customers, particularly small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The Head of Product will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success, to deliver a world-class platform that positions the company as a leader in the payroll and HCM industry. Key Responsibilities
Product Vision and Strategy : Define and articulate a compelling product vision and roadmap for the payroll and HCM platform, aligning with the company’s mission and market opportunities. Market Research and Customer Insights : Conduct market analysis, competitor research, and customer feedback to identify trends, opportunities, and pain points in the payroll and HCM space, with a focus on SMB needs. Product Development : Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation and requirements gathering to development, launch, and iteration, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions. Cross-Functional Leadership : Partner with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to ensure seamless execution of the product roadmap and go-to-market strategy. Innovation and Technology : Drive the adoption of emerging technologies, with a strong emphasis on leveraging and integrating AI tools to enhance product capabilities and maintain a competitive edge. Customer-Centric Focus : Advocate for the customer, ensuring the product delivers exceptional user experiences and solves real-world payroll and HCM challenges for SMBs. Performance Metrics : Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success, including customer adoption, retention, satisfaction, and revenue growth. Team Leadership : Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing product management team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability. Compliance and Regulation : Ensure products comply with relevant payroll and HCM regulations, including tax laws, labor laws, and data privacy standards Stakeholder Communication : Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to stakeholders, including the executive team and external partners and customers. Qualifications
Experience : 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., VP/SVP/EVP of Product, Chief Product Officer) in the FinTech, SaaS or technology space. Proven track record of building commercial-grade software tailored for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Experience or a strong desire to leverage and integrate AI tools to enhance product functionality and user experience. Experience in a high-growth or startup environment, ideally within a company spin-out or transformation. Skills : Familiarity with payroll and HCM processes (e.g., payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance, employee management) is a plus but not required. Strong technical acumen, with experience working closely with engineering teams to deliver cloud-based, scalable software solutions. Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on mentoring and developing talent. Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product plans. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels. Data-driven decision-making, with experience using analytics to drive product improvements. Education : Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
