This AP Manager role is located in downtown Chicago and reports to the Director of Property Accounting on the finance team.

Key Responsibilities
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the AP function
Process high-volume vendor invoices with precision, ensuring proper coding, approval, and timely payment with a focus on fraud prevention
Review and reconcile vendor statements; resolve discrepancies and payment issues promptly
Manage the full-cycle AP process including PO matching, non-PO invoice processing, and month-end accruals
Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with W-9/1099 regulations
Collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to improve AP workflows and controls
Prepare and support AP-related journal entries, reconciliations, and audit documentation
Provide mentorship or training to staff
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, preferably in a mid- to large-size organization in professional services, real estate, or similar industries
Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and AP policies and procedures
Proficiency in accounting systems such as Yardi or similar ERP software, and advanced Excel skills
Experience with AP automation tools and electronic payment platforms
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
Preferred associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Salary and Benefits In compliance with the New York & Illinois Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role in Illinois is between $75,000.00 and $90,000.00. This salary range does not include discretionary bonus or other forms of compensation or benefits which are offered in connection with this job. Several factors are considered when determining a candidate’s compensation. Please note that the salary range listed for this position is based on the level of experience outlined in the job description. If a candidate's experience differs from the requirements, the salary may be adjusted accordingly.
