Overview

This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE). The selected individual will serve as an Electrical Engineer providing experience in the design, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic systems for the AOC. Responsibilities

Summary: The role involves the design, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic systems for the AOC. Provide expert advice regarding electrical and electronic aspects of design, operation, and mechanical systems and equipment. Provide project management control (e.g., scheduling, resources, trades) within the electrical discipline. Serve as a Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) or equivalent on assigned construction and consultant contracts. Serve as a professional electrical engineer to facilitate power quality studies, capacity studies, remediation, UPS and emergency power strategy, short circuit and load coordination studies and control system strategies. Qualifications

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience — GS-13 : At least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-12 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: (1) Providing expert advice regarding electrical and electronic aspects of design, operation, and mechanical systems and equipment; (2) Providing project management control (e.g., scheduling, resources, trades) within the electrical discipline; (3) Serving as a Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) or equivalent on assigned construction and consultant contracts; and (4) Serving as a professional electrical engineer to facilitate power quality studies, capacity studies, remediation, UPS and emergency power strategy, short circuit and load coordination studies and control system strategies.
