Architect of the Capitol
Overview
This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE). The selected individual will serve as an Electrical Engineer providing experience in the design, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic systems for the AOC.

Specialized experience:
is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Candidates for the GS-13 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as having experience:
Providing expert advice regarding electrical and electronic aspects of design, operation, and mechanical systems and equipment;
Providing project management control (e.g., scheduling, resources, trades) within the electrical discipline;
Serving as a Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) or equivalent on assigned construction and consultant contracts; and
Serving as a professional electrical engineer to facilitate power quality studies, capacity studies, remediation, UPS and emergency power strategy, short circuit and load coordination studies and control system strategies.
Candidates for the GS-12 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower GS-11 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as having experience:
Providing advice regarding electrical and electronic aspects of design, operation, and mechanical systems and equipment;
Providing project management control (e.g., scheduling, resources, trades) within the electrical discipline;
Serving as a Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) or equivalent on assigned construction and consultant contracts; and
Serving as a professional electrical engineer to facilitate power quality studies, capacity studies, remediation, UPS and emergency power strategy, short circuit and load coordination studies and control system strategies.
