Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized person to help manage Lee County’s building and equipment assets. This is an important role that helps us keep track of county-owned buildings, equipment, and other physical assets using a software system called Cartegraph (also known as OpenGov). The work will take place both in the office and out in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities
Help lead and manage the County’s asset tracking program using Cartegraph.
Visit County buildings and locations to collect and update asset data.
Create and update records for all County-owned and leased buildings.
Keep track of building sizes (square footage) and other details.
Enter new buildings and equipment into the County’s Fixed Asset System (through the Clerk’s office).
Answer public records requests and prepare reports on asset data.
Support the team with organizing tasks and solving problems.
Handle general office duties, research, and special projects.
Provide excellent customer service to County staff and departments.
Help coworkers enter daily work tasks into the Cartegraph system.
Assist with invoice data entry and tracking maintenance schedules for equipment.
Education, Experience, Licensing
A combination of education and experience that is equivalent to:
A high school diploma or GED, and
Some additional training, coursework, or experience equal to about one year of college in business or a related field.
Two years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
Asset management
Fixed assets
Budget management
Or a closely related field
Comfortable using computers, learning new software, and entering data accurately.
Able to work both in an office setting and outdoors in the field to collect and verify asset data.
Ability to safely navigate a variety of work environments, including the physical ability to climb ladders, ascend/descend stairs, and walk across uneven surfaces as part of fieldwork.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) experience or familiarity is preferred.
A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Supplemental Information
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Work Environment: This position requires both indoor office work and outdoor fieldwork. Candidates must be comfortable with varied work environments and possess the physical capabilities required for field data collection.

All County employees are required to work before, during, or after an emergency as needed. This may include temporarily being assigned to work and performing duties outside of the normal scope of their position, location and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens.
