A respected insurance brokerage with over 100 years in central NJ is seeking a seasoned commercial insurance leader to head its high-performing commercial lines team. This is a strategic leadership role focused on operational excellence, team development, and client service delivery across a diverse portfolio of commercial accounts. This position offers a hybrid schedule after 90 days and reports directly to the COO. Key Responsibilities: Manage and mentor a team of Account Managers and service staff Oversee hiring, training, performance reviews, and career development Foster a collaborative, sales-oriented culture focused on retention and growth Ensure department meets or exceeds service, sales, and retention goals Conduct renewal meetings, monitor progress, and lead departmental updates Optimize workflows and conduct quality audits to ensure compliance and efficiency Act as a technical advisor and liaison between clients, carriers, and internal teams Support client retention and new business efforts through strategic presentations Promote cross-sell and account rounding opportunities Collaborate with executive leadership to align departmental goals with broader growth initiatives Participate in strategy sessions and contribute to new program development Maintain advanced knowledge of market trends, coverage solutions, and risk management strategies Qualifications: 7+ years proven experience managing commercial insurance operations and personnel Strong technical knowledge across casualty lines, property, and specialty coverages Proficiency in Epic, Sagitta, ImageRight, and related systems Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills Hold an industry designation such as ARM, CIC, CPCU, commitment to continuous learning and professional development Benefits: Tangible commitment to continuous growth through collaboration, exchange, and further education Opportunities to obtain advanced industry designations Flexible Work Schedule Hybrid In-Office/Remote Options 401(k) with Match + Profit Sharing Plan Comprehensive Medical, Life and ancillary Insurance Coverage This is a rare opportunity for a distinguished insurance professional to lead within a growth-focused organization that values innovation, integrity, and excellence.
