Position Description:

Debugs and supports Web applications using client-side technology stack and toolsHTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and Angular. Uses programming languages, middleware Java stack, messaging technologies, and Web containers to produce accurate and maintainable code for test automation and software utilities. Performs coding and programming systems using Structured Query Language (SQL). Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites to ensure product quality and software release readiness. Creates efficiencies in automated testing in an Agile software delivery environment, with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participates in Agile ceremoniesretrospectives, story refinements, sprint and quarterly planningsto collaborate with colleagues and gain clarity, provide updates, and plan work. Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts. Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms. Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives. Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives. Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and maintaining customer facing Web applications and services in a financial or insurance services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and maintaining customer facing Web applications and services in a financial or insurance services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing and testing fault tolerant and high concurrency batch process and scalable middle-tier Web Services with User Interfaces (UIs) for financial, healthcare, and management applications in a batch/event-based hybrid paradigm, using technologies and frameworksJava, JHipster, Spring, Kafka, AutoSys, Oracle, PL/SQL, Spock, Cypress, Groovy, and Angular. DE analyzing requirements to write software for financial and healthcare applications according to Agile methodologies; and satisfying user requirements using Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD). DE automating, migrating, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (using Jenkins, uDeploy, and Concourse within Amazon Web Services (AWS) hybrid Cloud frameworks), supporting storage (using Relational DB, s3, or AWS Relation Database Service (RDS)) and performing source code and structure management (using Git, Bitbucket, and Maven), scalable messaging management (Java Message Service (JMS) , Kinesis, or Kafka), and log aggregation (using Splunk, Cloud Watch, or Datadog). DE monitoring, profiling, and troubleshooting performance-related issues for financial, healthcare, and management applications, using Datadog, JProfiler, Java VisualVM, and JConsole; developing application baseline behavior profiles to form the basis of issue alerting and monitoring, and planning project operational and performance optimization, using jMagic and JIRA; and performing application performance assessments and dynamic instance scaling, using AWS ServicesElastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), Elastic Container Service (ECS)and Docker according to DevOps methodologies.
