Overview

As Director of Operations at Paladin Technologies, you will plan, organize, direct, and control the activities required for effective management of the Operations Department, including supervision of the Field Team. The primary goal is to ensure quality installations and client satisfaction. You will have full financial accountability and responsibility for the business results of the Minneapolis branch. The Director of Operations will work strategically and collaboratively with the existing Paladin Technologies leadership group to support overall business development, account management, execution of complex technology projects, and ensure we deliver the highest level of service for our growing client base while supporting our skilled workforce. Your top priority is to build strong and trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, while driving and delivering first-class multi-scope projects and services.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, develop, coach, guide, evaluate, hold accountable and discipline Operations Department personnel in accordance with PTI policies and procedures.
  • Develop short- and long-range Operations Department goals aligned with company objectives.
  • Establish and maintain procedures and standards for quality installations; monitor on-time, on-budget performance.
  • Determine appropriate staffing levels, forecast department requirements, and develop annual budgets.
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility, analyze variances from budget, and take corrective actions; provide reports to senior management (e.g., revenue forecasting and staff performance).
  • Establish productivity standards and communicate job expectations; ensure accurate project information is maintained in company systems.
  • Collaborate with Sales on plans for new client acquisition and growth within key accounts; align resourcing and execution with the sales pipeline.
  • Maintain client communications, monitor satisfaction, resolve complaints, and manage collection issues as needed.
  • Maintain departmental documentation, invoices, and credits; stay current with industry standards and emerging technologies.
  • Represent the company professionally in conduct and appearance to maximize client satisfaction; comply with company policies, including safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and timely to resolve inquiries; work proactively with coworkers; conduct annual performance evaluations and compensation planning in collaboration with HR.
  • Maintain and protect assigned company assets and required professional licenses; be available to work outside normal hours as needed.

Supervisory Duties

  • Plan, assign, and direct work; coach and appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 or more years of experience as an Operations Leader overseeing complex security integration technology projects.
  • Progressive experience in Project Management and PM leadership.
  • Post-secondary education (Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in management desirable).
  • Experience in project planning, risk management, cost/schedule management, and reporting project performance on financial and KPI metrics (5+ years).
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to pass pre-employment screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing or delivering multi-million-dollar projects in low-voltage segments; multi-scope in integrated security systems, structured cabling, and audio-visual projects.
  • Experience in Business Development and with enterprise security solutions (e.g., Avigilon, Axis, Genetec, Lenel, Milestone).
  • Direct commercial sales, estimating, or design experience; PMP certification; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a plus.

Physical Demands

Must be able to effectively communicate in English (see, hear, speak, and write clearly) to interact with colleagues and customers; manual dexterity for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment.
