American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit night shift position requiring BLS and ACLS certification and at least one year of PCU experience.Job Details•Work in a 33-bed Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit (PCU/IMCU) with a focus on cardiac telemetry, vascular, and med-surg patients,•Patient population includes some post-cath, post-pacemaker cases and patients with varying acuity,•Typical night shift nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6, subject to change based on acuity,•Handles lines, drains, and devices such as PICCs, dialysis catheters, wound vacs, various tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, and PCA pumps,•No ventilator management required,•Administers drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Lasix, Heparin, and Insulin,•Required to read and verify telemetry strips once per shift using EPIC EMR,•12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and major holiday coverage required,Job Requirements•Active RN license (state or compact) required,•Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,•Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown RN experience required,•Must pass dysrhythmia (EKG) exam with study guide provided,•Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility,•Travel experience is not required,Additional Information•Responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for cardiac, vascular, and med-surg patients,•Works within a multidisciplinary team including 1-3 PCAs and a unit secretary depending on census,•Phlebotomy staff are available for lab draws,•Navy blue scrubs are required,•Must be flexible with scheduling changes as needed,•Ancillary staff and team support provided based on unit census,•First-time travelers are welcome to apply,•Must be available to work every other weekend and major holidays,•Candidates must pass a pass/fail EKG test (with two attempts) on the first day,),•hash,:• ,
