American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in an acute care setting requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.Job Details•Work in a 4-bed ICU functioning as a step-down unit within an acute care hospital,•Patient population is primarily low acuity with occasional BiPAP, insulin, cardizem, and levophed drips; vent patients are rare,•Patient ratio is typically 2:1, but may be up to 4:1 with low acuity patients,•Unit is staffed with 1 RN and 1 tech; support from a connected MedSurg unit,•Telemedicine is used for virtual intensivist support in addition to local attending coverage,•Floating to MedSurg/Telemetry units may occur, with ratios up to 1:5-6 based on acuity (not for critical ICU patients),•Uses EpicCare Inpatient EMR; Epic experience is preferred,•12-hour day shifts with scheduled weekend requirements,•No on-call responsibilities,Job Requirements•Active RN license,•Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience,•Current certifications required: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, and PALS (or willingness to obtain PALS during assignment),•Experience with step-down and telemetry-level care preferred,•Must be independent and able to function with minimal onsite ICU staff,•Driver's license copy required for consideration,•Candidate cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility (radius rule),•References and background screenings are required,Additional Information•Duties include providing ICU-level nursing care, administering medication drips, and managing BiPAP equipment,•ICU nurses may occasionally be assigned to support MedSurg or Telemetry units,•Team includes one RN and one technician per shift, with MedSurg staff nearby for assistance,•Must be comfortable working independently in a small team with telemedicine support,•First-time travelers will be considered,•Dress code: facility-provided or nurse-owned appropriate scrubs,•Returning former perm employees must have a two-year gap before returning as travelers,•Travelers are not permitted to work at any WVU Medicine location for more than one consecutive year; after one year, a two-year break is required,),•hash,:• ,
