American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Acute/Neurocare position requiring neuro and telemetry skills as well as ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.Job Details•Work in a 27-bed Med Acute/Neurocare telemetry unit within an acute care setting,•Patient population includes stroke, neurological disorders, epilepsy, medical/surgical overflow, COVID, and toxicology cases including ETOH withdrawal and overdose,•Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4,•RNs are required to titrate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, lasix, heparin, and argatroban,•Monitor techs are present, but RNs must read and interpret their own EKGs,•Unit uses Cerner EMR; experience preferred but not required,•Day shift, 12-hour shifts starting at 7:00 AM, with every other weekend required,•Float required to all MS/Tele units within the region as needed,•No on-call requirements,•Self-scheduling is available,Job Requirements•Active RN license (state or Compact); no pending licenses accepted,•Minimum of 2 years RN experience,•Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required,•Experience caring for neuro patients, especially stroke and other neurological disorders,•Ability to titrate and manage various drips,•Must successfully pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to offer, with two attempts permitted if not already passed within the last 12 months,•Must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-related facility in the past year,•Must provide two professional references: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one supervisor or peer from within the last 3 years,Additional Information•Responsibilities include caring for acute neurological and med/surg patients, titrating drips, and interpreting telemetry strips,•Travelers may be trained on vents as appropriate, and RT support is available on the unit,•Orientation consists of 2 days plus testing on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes,•Rotating holiday shifts are required and participation is with core staff,•Navy scrubs are required; undershirts must be navy, white, or black, and scrub jackets are optional but must be navy,•Travelers are first to float when required,•Travelers who do not pass the required Relias or sterile skills tests after two attempts will be ineligible for 6 months for this healthcare system,•Returning travelers who previously held any direct employment with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the last 12 months are not eligible,),•hash,:• ,
