Specialist, Prevention

is responsible for providing anonymous and confidential testing for HIV, Hepatitis C (HCV), syphilis, and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). You will offer prevention education services, engage in syringe access programming (where applicable), and work with priority populations such as gay/bisexual/same-gender loving cisgender men, people of trans experience, and people who inject drugs (PWID). The aim is to create a welcoming, non-judgmental environment using harm reduction strategies. Responsibilities Conduct confidential and anonymous HIV, HCV, syphilis, and STI testing (where applicable), counseling, and referral per state guidelines (CTR). Establish and implementCTR sites for priority populations. Distribute approved education materials, safer sex materials, and/or safer injection supplies. Conduct one-on-one educational sessions and assessments with clients, including referrals for internal and external services (e.g., PrEP, treatment, housing, employment). Perform regular outreach to bars, barber shops, treatment and recovery centers, and other venues frequented by priority populations. Plan and participate in community events that engage priority populations (e.g., Pride Fest). Document all services and activities using established data systems and prepare public and private grant reports as required. Report to the supervisor biweekly via PMIs. Implement special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Adhere to agency policies, including Confidentiality, Employee Handbook, Health Care Corporate Compliance Plan, Standards of Conduct, and other relevant policies. Education:

High school diploma or GED. Work Experience:

Knowledge and/or experience working with HIV/AIDS, PrEP, and alcohol and other drug (AODA) issues; experience presenting to small and/or large groups; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Windows, and databases. Licensure/Certification:

HIV Prevention Certified Provider (preferred); Community Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification (a plus); valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and clean driving record if driving a company vehicle. Additional Requirements/Soft Skills:

Willingness to travel within the service area; sensitivity to HIV/AIDS patient populations; effective verbal and written communication; ability to work with diverse groups; dependability and punctuality.
