Job Overview:
The Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking an
experienced Oracle PL/SQL and Apex Developer
to support the
Syndromic Surveillance (SS) module
within the Georgia State Electronic Notifiable Disease Surveillance System (SendSS).
SendSS is currently undergoing a modernization effort, transitioning from
Oracle PL/SQL
to
Oracle Apex . The selected developer will: Work closely with the retiring legacy developer to gain in-depth knowledge of the SS module. Take full ownership of the module, ensuring continued functionality and support for staff. Redesign and implement the module's functionality within the
Apex Framework . Key Responsibilities:
Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing applications, servers, and systems. Collaborate with IS staff to establish and implement consistent procedures for system maintenance. Lead the redesign of the SS module in Oracle Apex. Provide support to users and ensure smooth transition from PL/SQL to Apex. Handle assigned tasks independently with minimal supervision. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience:
5+ years of Oracle
PL/SQL programming . 5+ years of
Oracle RDBMS
experience. 5+ years of
web application development
(HTML, JavaScript, and JS frameworks). 5+ years of
full project lifecycle experience
in implementing web-based systems. System experience in developing applications (5+ years).
Other Skills:
Strong troubleshooting skills. Self-motivated, driven, and able to work with minimal supervision. Good judgment and problem-solving abilities.
