Job Responsibilities

This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Santee-Wateree Center for Mental Health, 801 N. Pike West, Sumter, SC 29150.

The Office of Mental Health's mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.

Under limited supervision, as the IT Customer Service Specialist II, you will respond to and diagnose problems through discussions with users using problem recognition, research, and resolution steps. Provide end users within the four-county catchment area of Santee-Wateree with hardware and software solutions to ensure they have the tools needed to meet productivity. Maintain all hardware and software in accordance with ONIT directives.

Responsibilities for the

IT Customer Support Specialist III: Test simple applications and assists programmers to assess stability and functionality. Assist programmers, end users, IT personnel, and stakeholders to ensure that programs meet user's needs and are understood by users. Monitor and maintain data integrity of systems on a daily basis. Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software and network related issues. Continually provide maintenance and perform upgrades to existing hardware and software. Support system on multiple platforms, including design and maintenance of Center website ensuring end-user access to all BHDD/OMH and Santee-Wateree developed programs required to perform daily duties Operate and monitor console systems, peripheral equipment, computing and networking systems. Monitor the status and operation of data center infrastructure. Work directly with vendors to install, maintain and troubleshoot and restore services by analyzing, identifying and diagnosing faults and symptoms using established and program specific processes and procedures for Voice-over-IP (VoIP) and other systems. Provide training and support to all staff on applicable center-related application software. Develop training processes and manuals. Process users for network access, to include CIS, Outlook, VPN, EMR and Santee-Wateree website applications. Travel throughout the Santee-Wateree MHC catchment area as directed. A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. An associate degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. Additional Comments Post hire, employees must:

Have basic to moderate complex knowledge of capabilities and intricacies of systems and applications. Have the ability to write and revise moderately complex to complex use documentation. Have extensive knowledge of computer and other data communication equipment maintenance, repair, modification, design circuitry and testing. Have knowledge of troubleshooting computer equipment hardware, and software. Have ability to communicate effectively, and establish and maintain working relationships with users, vendors, staff, clients, and other BHDD/OMH inside and outside personnel. Be able to understand and carry out complex technical and non-technical instructions and requests. Be able to analyze and convert complex technical instructions to materials that can be understood by non-technical personnel. *Position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies.
