Job Responsibilities This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Performance Improvement, 220 Faison Drive, Columbia SC 29203.The Office of Mental Health's mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.As the Nurse Manager- Institutional, you will be responsible for the execution of the Performance Improvement Plan for Bryan Hospital (Civil, C&A, Forensics) and Morris Village; responsible for supervision of the Performance Improvement staff performing various supportive/liaison functions and work processes required for execution of the performance improvement plan.Responsibilities for the Nurse Manager - Institutional include:Take a leadership role to establish and maintain efficient and reliable mechanisms for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting of quality outcomes and process improvement initiatives in alignment with regulatory standards and healthcare best practices for quality and patient safety.Ensure that Relevant data is collected, analyzed, and disseminated for performance improvement priorities identified by the hospital leadership.Plan and implement compliance activities to meet accreditation and regulatory requirements to include TJC, CARF, SC DPH, and CMS. Has primary responsibility for the inpatient services Policy & Procedure process to include authoring new P&Ps as indicated, ensuring P&P revisions are made as indicated, reviewed by constituents, obtaining final approval by the OMH Office Director, and posting to the Inpatient Services Intranet.Collaborate with the Medical Staff to ensure compliance with facility licensure, certification, and accreditation requirements.Oversee the Medical Staff appointment/credentialing/privileging process; supervise the work of an Administrative Assistant assigned to this process.Ensure Quality Goals, ICS, Core and Global Measures data collection, analysis, and reporting as required by TJC, CMS.Take an active role during on-site surveys; assist facility staff by providing required documentation, information, coordinating focused meetings, and other related activities.Assist facility staff with developing and submitting survey corrective action plans as required. Minimum and Additional Requirements Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina.A master's degree in nursing and three (3) years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. Additional Comments Post hire, employees must:Possess extensive knowledge of nursing administration, standards of practice and care, trends in nursing education and patient care. Have considerable knowledge of performance improvement requirements.Have knowledge of OMH and hospital system's mission, programs and objectives. Have knowledge of standards/regulations of TJC, CARF, DPH, and CMS.
