The Position Beltrami County is creating an eligibility list for a full-time benefited Administrative Support Technician to work in our Natural Resources Management department. The successful applicant will be responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, receipt books, budgetary accounts and records, preparing reports, maintaining a variety of database record keeping systems, public contact, typing, filing, and general office duties.
Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work preparing and maintaining departmental data, providing customer service, assisting with forestry support, forest inventory and timber sale support, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Natural Resources Management Director.
Preferred hiring salary range is $22.54 to $24.62 per hour with a full range of $22.54 to $28.54 per hour. Placement depends on factors such as qualifications, internal equity, market conditions, and applicable policy guidelines. Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in business, accounting, finance, natural resources, or a related field. OR A substitution of education and work experience may qualify: Four years of related work experience in business, accounting, finance, or natural resources may be substituted for an Associate's degree. Essential Functions
Prepares for periodic public or private sales of tax-forfeited land parcels. Prepares timber auction data; processes and maintains timber sale information; prepares and distributes reports of activities. Maintains logger accounts; verifies eligibility status; enters scale tickets from sales; prepares and sends invoices; collects and processes payments; follows up on overdue accounts; issues salvage permits on forestryproducts following sales. Prepares bid packets for projects, posts legal notices, and sends contracts. Performs departmental administrative functions; maintains departmental files; orders supplies; prepares reports for staff; responds to public on general questions and issues related to land and timber activities. Processes all payments for tax-forfeited land revenues such as timber sales, leases, and grants. Provides support to establish timbers sales and conduct forest inventory. Provides administrative support to Facility & Safety Director as directed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities General knowledge of departmental programs, policies and terminology; general knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office assistance techniques; general knowledge of GPS, GIS, and mapping; general knowledge of forests and forestry practices; general knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic; ability to communicate ideas effectively in both oral and written forms; ability to gather and give basic information and instructions on departmental programs; ability to read and understand moderately detailed policies, procedures and job related materials; ability to collect GPS data, compose basic maps and perform forest inventory measurements; ability to make arithmetical calculations; ability to operate a variety of office and computer equipment and produce documents and correspondence; ability to follow oral and written directions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, and the general public.
Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, using hands and fingers in repetitive motions and frequently standing, walking, sitting and reaching with hands and arms; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
