Production Manager - 1st Shift
Food Manufacturing
Location: Glendale Heights, IL Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 + 15% Bonus Potential
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to join our Glendale Heights facility on 1st shift. In this leadership role, you will direct and coordinate overall operations within our production departments, ensuring goals are achieved while maintaining the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for driving productivity, customer satisfaction, schedule adherence, and cost-efficiency, while fostering a culture of respect and continuous improvement across the team.
Job Duties: Direct, coordinate, and oversee daily activities of production teams to meet goals in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner. Ensure adherence to product quality standards, equipment performance, and operator efficiency while implementing cost-effective technology. Assist in developing and managing department budgets, monitor spending, and report on operating costs. Identify and address cost and labor overruns, recommend and implement corrective actions. Partner with plant functional managers to promote a positive employee relations environment. Evaluate departmental functions to ensure proper organizational levels and resources, addressing skill gaps where needed. Support development of short- and long-term goals in alignment with sales and business growth initiatives. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a food manufacturing environment. Minimum 5 years' experience in a bakery processing or food manufacturing environment with demonstrated leadership of teams and departments. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop others. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse teams in a multicultural environment. Knowledge of applicable regulatory compliance (OSHA, FDA, etc.) and food safety programs (GMPs, SOPs, HACCP). Ability to create and communicate clear procedures, instructions, and processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred. Benefits
