Job Title: Registered Nurse Emergency Room (ER RN) Specialty: Emergency Nursing Services Site: Hopi Health Care Center (HHCC) Location: Hwy 264, MP 388, Polacca, AZ 86042 Duration: 1 year contract with the possibility of a 3 year extension Shift Schedule: Emergency Department: 12-hour shifts (06:30 AM 07:00PM and 06:30 PM 07:00AM) May be adjusted to 10-hour shifts depending on patient load Coverage includes nights, weekends, holidays, and potential overtime License / Certifications: Active and unrestricted RN license in any U.S. state, DC, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) preferred but not required Education: Graduate or higher-level degree, associate's degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing program (U.S. DOE recognized) Foreign nursing graduates must provide certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools Minimum Qualification / Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience Responsibilities: Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages (neonate through geriatric) Initiate nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care Carry out physician orders including medication administration, IV therapy, blood products, oxygen, and interventions Operate and monitor medical devices (e.g., EKG, respiratory equipment, infusion pumps) Perform patient assessments: vitals, neuro status, visual/hearing screening, and medication effects Document all care and patient condition changes per Joint Commission and CMS standards Collaborate with physicians, hospital staff, and ancillary providers for patient care Recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies, initiate resuscitation and emergency protocols Collect specimens (blood, urine, stool) and ensure quality control for clinical procedures Supervise and direct ancillary nursing staff as appropriate Comply with Indian Health Service (IHS), CMS, and Joint Commission (TJC) standards Adhere to cultural sensitivity practices when working with Native American patients and families.
