Vaco Los Angeles
is seeking a Payroll Specialist responsible for maintaining employee timekeeping records, managing deductions and withholdings to ensure compliance with applicable laws, and collaborating cross-departmentally with accounting to ensure smooth business operations. This is a temporary on-site role in Westwood, CA, with a pay rate of up to $35/hr.
Responsibilities:
Oversee administration and processing of multi-state payroll on a biweekly/weekly basis.
Record payroll data in our software system and verify all amounts prior to issuing checks.
Adjust employee tax status and withholding information as needed.
Initiate direct deposits and update employee banking records as necessary.
Address employee questions and concerns regarding payroll and communicate issues to HR.
Maintain compliant payroll policies and procedures.
Handle incentive compensation and equity-based administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (preferred but not required).
Experience with ADP preferred.
Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and compliance laws.
Experience with various payroll systems preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail.
