Vaco Los Angeles is working with a client who is looking for a Sr. Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for timekeeping records of employees' hours worked as well as deductions or withholdings required to comply with state and federal laws in all markets. The role is temporary and on-site in Valencia, CA, with a pay rate up to $40/hr. The position requires cross-department collaboration with accounting to support smooth business operations. Responsibilities
Overseeing administration and processing of multi-state payroll on a biweekly/weekly basis Record payroll data in the software system and verify all amounts prior to issuing payments Alter employee tax status and withholding information as needed Initiate direct deposits Update employee banking records as necessary to process payments accurately Record employee questions and concerns about payroll and communicate issues to HR Maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll Handle incentive compensation and equity-based administration Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field preferred but not required Experience with multiple payroll systems Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and related tax laws Experience using various payroll systems Microsoft Excel Proficiency Strong attention to detail Seniority level
