Clamp Truck Operator 2nd Shift
Shift/Hours: 2:00PM 10:00PM Monday Friday Pay Rate: $18.50/hr. In General Utility at Pratt Industries Cedar Hill, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production machinery. This position involves a variety of tasks, including machine setup, operation, cleanup, and troubleshooting, with a focus on safety, meeting customer demand and maintaining high-quality standards. Safety & Compliance:
Operate the clamp truck in a safe manner, complete daily inspection reports, maintain a clean and organized work area, and follow all company policies. Learn proper response for emergency chemical spills or skin contact. Quality Assurance:
Accurately mark buttrolls with size, diameter, lineal footage, and grade. Check for and note any physical damage to rolls when unloading. Operational Efficiency:
Unload rolls from trailers and rail cars, adhere to the daily production schedule, and assist the conversion operator as instructed. Turn in roll stock tallies to the appropriate department. Training & Development:
Learn to read converting lineups, make starch as needed per company formula, and assist in the wet end training of other personnel. Reporting & Maintenance:
Complete clamp truck inspection reports at the beginning of each shift and turn in maintenance work orders. Monitor inventory levels of starch and chemicals, and maintain the wastewater treatment facility. Flexibility & Teamwork:
Be flexible to assist with various duties as assigned by management, including supporting the conversion operator and other personnel. What You'll Need to be Successful:
Experience:
A high school diploma or GED is required. The company prefers candidates with prior work experience in the converting industry, previous industrial power truck or heavy equipment operating experience, or at least 6 months of relevant experience. Skills:
Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters. Must be able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy and calculate figures like percentages, volume, and rate. You should be able to apply common sense to solve problems in a standardized situation. Physical Requirements:
Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. Certifications:
A current
Lift Truck/Clamp Truck Operator License
