Overview

Gryphon Oakwood are currently working on a Director of Business Development position. This individual will be responsible for leading the company’s sales and growth strategy within the industrial storage tank construction sector. This individual will identify new business opportunities, build and maintain strong client relationships, and drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships and project acquisitions. Reporting to executive leadership, the Director will play a key role in shaping the company’s long-term vision in the Houston market and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience in industrial construction, preferably with Above Ground Storage Tanks or similar sectors.
  • Strong network within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy industries.
  • Proven track record of securing and managing multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead strategic initiatives and collaborate across teams.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s business development strategy focused on Above Ground Storage Tank projects.
  • Identify and pursue new clients, markets, and opportunities in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, and related industries.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, proposal development, contract negotiations, and project handoff.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with EPC firms, owners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with estimating, operations, and project management teams to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Track industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to position the company competitively.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Provide regular reporting on pipeline, revenue forecasts, and business development performance to executive leadership.
