Overview

Senior Data Modeler — Local to Boston, MA. Only on W2. Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite in Boston, MA (local candidates only).

Responsibilities

• Hands-on data modeling with ER diagrams and enterprise software design for OLTP (relational) and analytical systems.
• Define data modeling standards and guidelines and help teams adopt complex, large-scale, data-driven implementations.
• Work with semantic data modeling concepts, multi-fact models, and time series data handling.
• Experience with modeling tools (PowerDesigner, Erwin, ER/Studio, or equivalent).
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product management to explain technical and functional concepts; assess accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data models; maintain relevant documentation.
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment with short release cycles in an agile development methodology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, data science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytical data modeling experience.
• Strong SQL knowledge; work experience with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or similar databases.
• Ability to define data modeling standards and guidelines and help teams adopt them in large-scale projects.
• Demonstrated experience with data modeling, ER diagrams, and enterprise software design for OLTP and analytical systems; understanding of semantic data modeling concepts, multi-fact models, and time-series data handling.
• Experience with modeling tools (PowerDesigner, Erwin, ER/Studio, or equivalents).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
