Strategic Account Development Executive - Bay Area role at DoorDash. The Outside Account Development team expands on existing partnerships, identifies opportunities for engagement, growth, and performance on the platform, learns about the merchant’s business and growth goals, and builds a path to success and increased ROI while accommodating the needs of partners.

About The Role

We are looking for outside sales executives to join us in a Strategic Account Development Executive role. You will connect existing merchant partners with new tools on the DoorDash delivery platform, ensure partnership terms are mutually beneficial, and drive sustained success and increased sales. You will report to the Manager of Strategic Account Development in our Outside Sales organization. Once our offices reopen, this role is expected to be flexible with some time in-office (1-2 days/week), some time in the field (up to 40%), and some time working from home. Historical performance, including attainment and optimization, will be considered during the selection process.

Travel across your region is required (up to 40%).

Responsibilities

  • Run your end-to-end sales process, including sales discovery and complex pipeline management
  • Excite existing accounts about the potential to increase revenue share
  • Engage with strategic decision makers, including C-suite, VPs, and business owners, using data to tell a compelling story
  • Close partners on upgrades, upsells, and cross-sells of DoorDash platform products and marketing promotions
  • Use internal data and unit economics to explain forecasted revenue growth and present customized sales packages
  • Build an internal guide for the team’s sales process
  • Collaborate with regional Strategic Partner Managers to close and re-negotiate sales terms
  • Travel across your region (up to 40%), with flexible hours and option to work from home

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of sales experience with at least 3+ years selling to an existing client base (upsell, cross-sell, promotions, or expansions) or related experience
  • 3+ years of B2B and SaaS sales experience
  • Experience in an outside sales environment, leading an end-to-end sales cycle
  • Ability to align company partners while managing project timelines and expectations or related project management experience
  • Knowledge of Excel and related data skills to create sales presentations
  • Experience owning client-facing conversations and complex negotiations

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: Actual base salary within the listed pay range will be decided based on factors including skills, prior relevant experience, and location. Base salary is localized by work location. In addition to base salary, the role includes opportunities for equity grants and sales commissions. The national base pay range is $73,400—$108,000 USD. Total on-target earnings (base + commissions) range from $156,400—$230,000 USD.
