Associate Director - Medical Science Liaison (GI/Thoracic) Rocky Mountain role at Eli Lilly and Company. Primary Responsibilities

Provide scientific and clinical information to researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders in GI/Thoracic therapeutic areas. Synthesize and communicate latest research on products, disease states, and standard of care; maintain high-level technical expertise within the therapeutic area. Serve as a primary interface between Lilly Medical and SEs/CEs; facilitate collaborative research opportunities and support studies with investigators. Deliver disease-state and scientific information aligned with site identification, selection, and recruitment; collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate evidence generation. Analyze customer data, plan and prioritize engagement strategies, and execute a strategic territory plan with an enterprise mindset. Establish and maintain internal networks; ensure compliant partnerships across Lilly field roles and utilize territory analytics for customer identification and routing. Synthesize and communicate actionable customer/clinical insights to internal Lilly Medical and cross-functional teams; demonstrate good judgment and escalate issues as appropriate. Collaborate with peers and Lilly colleagues; contribute to team goals and adhere to governing requirements, procedures, and laws. Minimum Qualification Requirements
Scientific / clinical acumen: Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) required. An MD/PhD/PharmD with minimum of two years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience is preferred. Masters or bachelors degree in health sciences (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) considered if 5+ years of clinical, research, or industry experience in a relevant therapeutic area. Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly does not sponsor work authorization or visas. Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record. Location requirements: Candidates should live within the geography (Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming) and near a transport hub. This is a field-based role requiring up to 80% travel, including weekends. Other Information/Additional Preferences: Interpersonal, presentation, planning, and digital skills: Gastrointestinal and/or thoracic therapeutic area experience strongly preferred. Strong learning agility and ability to convey complex scientific content clearly. Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and ability to interpret information for future states. Advanced presentation and computer skills; capability to identify literature and support customer needs for complex information. Excellent verbal and written communication; self-directed with ability to manage multiple priorities in the field. Strong teamwork, high emotional intelligence, and relationship-building skills; resilient in facing challenges. Intellectual curiosity in science/medicine; comfortable using field-based tools and adapting to technology advances. Experience in field-based work and familiarity with health systems, academic communities, medical research, and medical education processes. Knowledge of digital platforms for virtual engagement (e.g., Zoom) and willingness to leverage field tools.
