As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will serve as a vital resource in the field, delivering scientific and clinical information, facilitating dialogue between the industry and medical community, and supporting Lilly’s research, development, and commercialization efforts within the GI/Thoracic therapeutic areas. Primary Responsibilities: Provide in-depth scientific and clinical information to researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders within GI/Thoracic areas. Synthesize and communicate the latest research related to products, disease states, and standards of care; maintain comprehensive knowledge of the therapeutic area. Act as a key liaison between Lilly Medical and stakeholders, fostering collaborative research opportunities and supporting investigator studies. Deliver valuable disease-state and scientific insights to align with site identification, selection, and recruitment, while collaborating cross-functionally to expedite evidence generation. Analyze customer data and strategically plan engagement approaches, executing a coordinated territory plan with a broad perspective. Build and maintain internal networks, ensuring compliant partnerships across various Lilly field roles and utilizing territory analytics for customer targeting. Summarize and relay actionable clinical insights to Lilly Medical and cross-functional teams, exercising good judgment in escalating issues as necessary. Collaborate with peers and Lilly colleagues, contributing to team objectives and adhering to all regulatory and procedural requirements. Minimum Qualification Requirements: Scientific / Clinical Acumen: An advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) is required. Preference given to candidates with an MD/PhD/PharmD and a minimum of two years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience. A master’s or bachelor’s degree in health sciences (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) will be considered if the candidate has 5+ years of clinical, research, or industry experience in a relevant therapeutic area. Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States; Lilly does not sponsor work authorization or visas. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required. Location Requirements: Candidates must live within the Rocky Mountain region and near a transport hub. This is a field-based position requiring up to 80% travel, including weekends. Other Information/Additional Preferences: Experience in the gastrointestinal and/or thoracic therapeutic area is strongly preferred. Demonstrated learning agility and ability to convey complex scientific information effectively. Proficient strategic thinking and analytical skills to interpret information for forward-looking strategies. Advanced presentation and computer skills; adept at identifying relevant literature to support customer inquiries for complex data. Exceptional verbal and written communication; self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Strong collaboration, high emotional intelligence, and relationship-building prowess; resilient in the face of challenges. Demonstrate intellectual curiosity in science/medicine; comfortable utilizing field-based tools and embracing technological advancements. Experience in field-based roles and familiarity with health systems, academic communities, medical research, and education processes. Knowledge of digital platforms for virtual engagement (e.g., Zoom), with a willingness to leverage digital tools. The anticipated salary range for this position is $145,500 - $213,400, depending on education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
