Lead, Java Software Engineer at S&P Global About The Role: S&P Dow Jones Indices is a leader in benchmarks and investable indices. We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer for our indices prototyping platform. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled developer with experience in designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems that handle complex calculations and are deployed to cloud infrastructure. This role is pivotal in advancing S&P Global's capabilities in delivering high-quality indices and benchmarks. Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and deployment of applications using modern programming languages and frameworks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation. Develop and implement applications that are highly scalable and fault-tolerant. Utilize cloud services for application deployments. Implement containerization strategies for applications. Develop user interfaces using modern front-end technologies. Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends. What We’re Looking For

Basic Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in application development. Strong experience with modern programming frameworks. Experience with cloud services and containerization. Familiarity with front-end technologies. Proven track record of building scalable, high-performance applications. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns. Experience with version control systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and leadership skills. Additional Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Knowledge of database systems. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Compensation & Benefits

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $130,000 – $165,000. Final base salary will be based on geographical location, experience, and qualifications.
