Raytheon is a leading aerospace and defense company delivering advanced systems and services to national security programs. This role is part of the Radar Mechanical Design Department, which leads mechanical design, development and integration of radar systems and related hardware. What You Will Do
Develop sound technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems across the product life cycle. Program support and development from early development through transition to production. Lead mechanical development of radar systems and components to meet system-level performance requirements. Ensure the product and process meet appropriate standards and requirements while balancing risk and constraints; provide clear technical decisions. Maintain visibility and accountability for technical decisions; engage with customers and senior stakeholders on requirements, IRAD, and future needs. Meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance targets for the finished product. Work with minimal direction, exercising latitude in determining technical objectives. Periodic travel to support collaboration, hardware build and test as needed. Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience. Minimum eight years of experience in mechanical design for military, aerospace, or commercial applications. Experience with innovative mechanical design and troubleshooting skills. Experience with phase array structures, hardware packaging, and/or array integration in a collaborative environment. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required. Qualifications We Prefer
Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering. Effective communication with all program and customer levels. Experience with ANSI drawing standards and/or structural analysis techniques. Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software. Familiarity with design and manufacturing of CCAs, metal housings, sheet metal, or assemblies. Strong technical background with high aptitude and leadership in project management for strategic decisions. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to travel as needed. What We Offer
