Principal Scientist, R&D – ESG/TECH Packaging

Kraft Heinz We are seeking a Principal Scientist in R&D for ESG/Tech Packaging to join Kraft Heinz and lead innovative packaging technology platforms, drive sustainability and packaging innovations, and deliver competitive, cost-advantaged solutions across the portfolio. Responsibilities
Lead innovative and disruptive packaging technology platforms (e.g., packaging sustainability and innovation) instrumental in delivering novel solutions. Research and identify research pathways, demonstrate proof of concept, scale technologies, and transition to business units through commercialization. Link technologies to applications with strong technical skills, showing curiosity, problem solving, leadership, and project management. Manage multiple assignments concurrently with autonomy; mentor junior packaging researchers. Collaborate with internal teams and cross-functional partners to understand opportunities and build solid plans with defined timing and deliverables. Build and coordinate relationships with suppliers, technology partners, design and innovation partners to drive packaging innovation. Translate consumer learnings and technical findings into meaningful packaging design and innovation solutions; drive adoption. Provide technical/commercialization expertise for junior developers and support projects requiring problem solving. Lead functional training and process improvements for the packaging organization. Present to global teams, senior leadership, and key stakeholders; operate with a high degree of autonomy. Qualifications
BS/MS/PhD in Packaging, Mechanical, Materials, Chemical Engineering or related field. Minimum 6 years of experience in packaging development or research and commercialization (including graduate work/internships). Expert understanding of packaging materials, functionality, qualification and commercialization of multiple packaging formats; experience with design of experiments and mentoring others. Excellent communication, influencing, project/platform management, and problem-solving skills. Strong ability to lead, coach, and motivate others; ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize work. Willingness to travel 30%. About Us
