The role leads a software engineering team of approximately 10-20 individuals within an Agile software development environment. The candidate will collaborate with Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, Test Automation, DevSecOps, and Systems Test to meet contract objectives. The position reports to the IPT Lead on the program side and to the Software Department Manager on the functional side. The role is full-time and on-site with no remote work; travel up to 10% may be required. Responsibilities
New business acquisition, proposal, and special projects support. Support Functional Engineering initiatives. Assist with staff workload forecast preparation. Identify and implement new or improved tools and processes to increase team efficiency. Acquire the necessary computers, equipment, and tools to enable the team to accomplish their assigned job. Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Lead Engineering teams with program execution. Mentor Engineers on all phases of the Program. Create, review, and maintain critical documentation. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Support the software department, software center, and software sector in day-to-day activities. Basic Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 9 years of related experience with software development OR a Master’s degree with 7 years of related experience. Leadership experience using agile development (Product Owner, SCRUM Master, or team member). Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Experience with Agile software development, object-oriented design, software integration and testing. Experience with at least two of the following languages: Java, Python, Go, C++, C#, PowerShell, VBScript, Bash, or KornShell. Experience with Cloud technologies and service providers. Active in-Scope DoD Secret clearance; ability to obtain initial SAP/PAR before starting. Preferred Qualifications
Current approved PAR to applicable program. Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field. Advanced technical management degree. Previous experience in engineering functional management and leading a team of 5-12 employees with on-time performance. Experience developing proposal inputs (task descriptions and basis of estimate). Time management and organizational skills for prioritizing across concurrent programs and functional responsibilities. Experience with cost account management and task/resource planning. Salary and Benefits
Primary Level Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $234,700.00. The salary range is a guideline and may be adjusted based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and market conditions. Eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses depending on position. Long Term Incentives may apply for VP/Director level roles. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, holidays and PTO. Additional Information
