Overview
Sturgis First Christian Church is seeking a full time senior pastor to lead the church into a new era of growth and service. The town of Sturgis, KY is in beautiful Union County in west Kentucky with borders close to Indiana and Illinois. The church pulls members and attenders from Sturgis and surrounding towns. The ideal candidate is a man who is committed to the principles of the Restoration Movement and is, above all, faithful to the Scriptures. He will possess (or be actively pursuing) a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry, Bible, Preaching, or similar areas. Post graduate degree or work is a plus. Ministry experience of at least 5 years is desired. Unique circumstances will be taken into consideration. The church currently has a secretary and a full time Youth Pastor. Other leaders of the church include 4 elders and several deacons who are actively serving. There is also a high degree of dedication and commitment among the members. This church family is eager to welcome a new pastor who will lead, love, and guide them into a new chapter. The church has many children, teens, and young families and has no debt having recently paid off their beautiful 10 year old church building. Responsibilities
Preaching and teaching the congregation Overseeing church staff Pastoral care of the congregation and equipping members for ministry Leading in outreach and in all aspects of church life Providing general oversight of all church activities Qualifications
Committed to the principles of the Restoration Movement and faithful to the Scriptures Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Ministry, Bible, Preaching, or related field; post-graduate degree or further work is a plus Ministry experience of at least 5 years Ability to work with and lead a board of elders and deacons Strong interpersonal skills and a heart for shepherding families, children, teens, and young adults Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $50,000–$55,000, commensurate with experience and education Parsonage option with utilities paid by the church How to Apply
