As a Financial Program Specialist, GS-09 you will perform financial transactions associated with organization activity. Prepare reports from a variety of sources identifying problem areas. Provide timely financial-related advice required to assist management in making effective decisions. Provide analyses, projections, and interpretations to maintain maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Requirements
You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position. You must successfully pass a background investigation. You must successfully pass a drug screen. Males born after 12/31/59 must certify Selective Service registration. Requirements by Closing Date: meet all requirements by the closing date of the announcement unless otherwise noted. Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position. Upon appointment, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period. Qualifications

For GS-9 Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience at the GS-7 level or equivalent performing duties such as: Assisting senior level analysts in performing financial transactions. Assisting senior level analysts with the preparation of cost reports. Working with senior level analysts to perform financial analyses. OR
A combination of graduate education and experience may be used to meet the total qualification requirements. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify for GS-09. Only related graduate education in excess of the first year of study may be used for positions at GS-9. Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date. Qualification claims will be verified. National Service Experience (volunteer) is creditable. Education
A transcript must be submitted with your application if you base all or part of your qualifications on education. For GS-09 Specialized Experience: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree may be considered. Promotion is not guaranteed. Future promotions depend on performance and agency need. This position is at the full performance level. DHS uses E-Verify to confirm employment eligibility.
