Senior Network Engineer with Security Clearance
Active U.S. national security clearance required and the ability to obtain one. Up to 25% OCONUS travel may be required to support integration and testing activities. This position is with Highbury Defense Group, an Accelint company. Accelint provides technical, cybersecurity, logistics, and program management support to US DoD, DoS, and select foreign governments and militaries. HDG seeks a Senior Network Engineer to strengthen networking initiatives supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with military C4I systems and secure operational networks. The role requires the capability to lead complex networking efforts independently, demonstrating initiative and resourcefulness in addressing challenging technical issues. Responsibilities and duties include leading the network design process, managing existing networks, collaborating with US Government network engineers and other professionals on setup and configuration, analyzing and administering the technical architecture of Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks, superior troubleshooting to isolate problems, restore service and determine root cause, developing and integrating Cisco products in a sandbox, designing and implementing complex solutions, investigating and recommending security products with a focus on management and monitoring platforms, and providing resolution to networking problems in C4ISR environments. It also involves serving as a networking subject matter expert to engineers, technicians, and IT staff in planning, distributing, coordinating, and monitoring networking work assignments for the program. Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree Five years of Network Engineering experience in relevant areas Proficient in Cisco network devices (switches, routers, firewalls) Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining complex Cisco-based network infrastructures Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, EIGRP, DMVPN/mGRE Experience with network performance/load testing tools (e.g., Spirent, T-Berd) Ability to diagnose and resolve network hardware and software problems in data center infrastructure Experience documenting network designs and creating training materials
Desired Qualifications
Active CCNP, CCNP Security, or CCIE Experience implementing network security solutions including firewalls and intrusion prevention systems Familiarity with Cyber Security Tools (e.g., Splunk, Vectra Networks, Security Onion) Deep understanding of IPsec and 802.1X Experience with virtualization platforms (Network Function Virtualization, VMware ESXi, or Hyper-V) Project management skills (team building, staff training, scheduling)
