Position Information Plans, develops, coordinates and implements a comprehensive driver improvement and evaluation program, including fleet safety, for a major operating agency; and performs other related duties as required. Current Vacancy There is one vacancy with the
Honolulu Board of Water Supply , Executive Support Office. Position is located at the Manana Corporation Yard. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and may include evenings, weekends, holidays and under hazardous conditions. Position develops, coordinates, and implements a departmental fleet safety program encompassing fleet safety activities, evaluations of driver conduct and qualifications, driver improvement training and education, accident investigation, commercial drivers license (CDL) drug testing and assist in establishing pertinent policies and procedures; develops, implements and enforces Board of Water Supply, federal, state, and city standards and guidelines and performs other related duties as required. Position will serve as Disaster Response Worker during declared emergencies. If you qualify for the position, your name will be established to an eligible list. This list may be used to fill current and/or future vacancies in this and/or other departments. At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment. Education Requirement
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Experience Requirement
Three years of experience in driver training and/or accident prevention activities, or other related activities involving instructing, advising on, or evaluating motor vehicle operator performance, including or supplemented by some investigational experience. Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of the operating requirements, procedures, and safety features of a variety of motorized vehicles including automobiles, trucks, construction equipment, tractors, mowers and vans; proper and safe driving techniques and highway safety as it pertains to motor vehicle operation; and investigational methods and techniques; and the ability to plan, organize and coordinate a departmental driver improvement program; schedule and conduct instruction for driver training; and investigate traffic and vehicular accidents, determine cause, and recommend means for correction. License/Certificate Requirements Valid Hawaii State commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A. Current State Department of Transportation (DOT) medical examination certificate. CDL endorsement "N". Verification Requirement: You must submit a copy of your CDL driver's license (front and back) and State DOT medical examination certificate.
