The National Accounts - Account Executive is responsible for maintaining persistency on an assigned book of business and oversees all aspects of SNS consulting services provided to our clients on the absence and disability programs. Core Responsibilities
Retain existing clients on the entire Book of Business (BOB). Coverage includes Group Life, Disability, AD&D, Dental and Voluntary Benefits. Support new business opportunities with existing clients. Work independently to oversee and orchestrate all aspects of service delivery to BOB; determine the appropriate utilization of internal and external resources as needed. Establish and maintain partnerships with internal partners and outside vendors/carriers to deliver best-in-class service. Develop and own all business strategies, relationship strategies, renewals, RFPs and other projects for assigned clients. Maintain history of all work done for each client. Maintain a minimum 2-year outlook for each client; stay at least 1 year ahead of renewals and know the game plan for each client at all times. Understand each client’s business and goals; build business strategy around their internal goals. Present to clients with expert knowledge of financial, plan design, and process components of plans. Present underwriting components of Life, Leave & Disability, AD&D, Dental and various Voluntary Benefits plans. Stay current with vendors’ product offerings and demonstrate strong market knowledge to clients. Ensure all deliverables are accurate, meaningful, and meet SNS service standards. Establish and maintain trust with clients through superior service, meeting deadlines, and delivering as promised. Manage up to 3 Account Managers (AM) and Senior Account Managers (SAM) who support the BOB; mentor their career development. Mentor other service staff by assisting with training, guidance, and coaching. Review or monitor travel and expenses to ensure resources are used efficiently. Provide oversight of administrative aspects of book of business management, including risk tracking, audits, billing, CRM updates, and task completion. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 10 years’ progressive experience in a lead role in Group Insurance National Accounts (10,000+ lives), ideally from a carrier or broker. Ability to develop and nurture client relationships, maintain persistency goals, and grow the in-force Book of Business. Expert knowledge of benefits serviced, including short/long term disability, leave programs, life insurance, AD&D, voluntary benefits, dental and vision. High level of technical knowledge in contracts, plan design, claim processes, and vendor capabilities. Self-directed with the ability to work independently and in a virtual environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, prioritization, and ability to manage multiple complex projects with deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and presentation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to establish credibility at all organizational levels with clients through confident communications and integrity. Preferred
