Overview The primary responsibilities for the Event Lead at Edmonds College's Black Box Theatre are to provide event support for the theatre's varied live events and to develop and implement an effective marketing plan for our campus and surrounding community.
Responsibilities
Supervise staff (house manager, box officer, concessions) and the theatre's technical operations.
Foster positive client and community relations and protect the theatre assets.
Create and implement a marketing plan that generates visibility, community engagement, and increased attendance to the Black Box Theatre at Edmonds College.
Marketing activities include digital, social media, print, websites, developing partnerships, leveraging existing marketing initiatives, and collaborating with the Edmonds College marketing department.
Flexible evening and weekend hours related to BBT events and the college's quarterly academic schedules (maximum 12 hours per week).
Report to the Director of the Black Box Theatre.
Oversee preparation and execution of technical production elements for events.
Manage artist and client relationships.
Assist with cleaning and preparation of space for events.
Provide safety and security for the theatre and its adjacent spaces during events.
Maintain ticket sales site and provide check-in for events; reconcile sales at the end of each sales cycle.
Train and supervise students for events.
Collect and organize data for events; prepare quarterly and annual reports.
Supervise concessions as needed; attend seminars and trainings related to the position.
Prepare and design quarterly event programming slideshow and posters.
Post upcoming events on community calendars and program events and rentals in 25Live.
Qualifications
Experience with event supervision, production elements, and client relations preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Strong organizational and data management skills.
Ability to work with students and staff, and to train and supervise others.
