Overview Cetera Financial Group is seeking a knowledgeable and client-focused Senior Technology Consultant to support our RIA Blueprint offering, a next-generation advisory platform purpose-built for independent Registered Investment Advisors. In this dual role, you’ll serve as both a strategic product owner and a trusted technology advisor, helping RIAs optimize their tech stack, streamline operations, and elevate the client experience.

We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on individual contributor with deep knowledge of the RIA ecosystem and a passion for empowering advisors through innovative technology. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of advisor technology by delivering a seamless, integrated experience across portfolio management, CRM, financial planning, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

RIA Technology Consulting

Assess RIA business models and recommend technology solutions that align with their operational and compliance needs

Guide RIAs through the evaluation and implementation of platforms such as CRMs, custodians, performance reporting tools, trading systems, and client portals

Provide strategic input on technology architecture and integration

Support M&A transitions and onboarding processes for RIAs joining the RIA Blueprint platform

Support user acceptance testing for the RIA Blueprint advisory platform

Portfolio Trading & Model Consultation

Consult on portfolio model construction, maintenance, and deployment

Share industry best practices for model management, drift monitoring, and tax-aware rebalancing

Support portfolio trading workflows, including model-based trading, rebalancing, and trade execution best practices

Performance Reporting

Design and implement performance reporting templates tailored to RIA client segments

Assist in setting up and configuring performance reporting systems

Training & Enablement

Deliver training sessions to RIAs on selected technologies and operational best practices

Create documentation, guides, and onboarding materials to support adoption and usage

Train internal teams on RIA-specific workflows, including:

IAR-only structures and compliance considerations

Required Qualifications

Strong understanding of the RIA business model, IARs, and operational framework is required.

Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills

8+ years of experience in the financial services industry

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools

Preferred Qualifications

Additional knowledge of RIA compliance requirements and advisor workflows

Securities licenses (Series 7, 24, 63/65, 66) preferred

Previous experience with fintech systems like Orion, Envestnet, or Black Diamond

Compensation Range The base annual salary range for this role is $117,000 to $128,000, plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
