Overview
Corporate Tax Manager - Methods, Credits & Incentives (R&D) at Grant Thornton (US). In this role you’ll navigate R&D tax credit complexity and provide insightful, practical tax advice for clients within the MCI, Research & Development Tax Credit practice. You’ll collaborate with MCI leadership, supervise R&D projects, research tax issues, conduct fieldwork, and participate in sales and marketing efforts. You’ll be empowered from day one with responsibility to ensure that R&D projects are conducted in accordance with firm standards and completed on time, within budget, to lead and support the team and help you achieve more, confidently. Responsibilities
Assist with visiting client locations, touring facilities, investigating facts, analyzing accounting information, preparing cost lead schedules and cost summary schedules, completing tax computations, and preparing written reports summarizing findings. Manage multiple project tasks; project managers are ultimately responsible for overall project delivery and deliverables. Support business development activities, including identification, proposal development and other pursuit activities at clients. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field Masters or Ph.D. in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Financial Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Industrial Engineering or Operations Research preferred Six to ten years of experience in R&D tax credits; open to Fixed Asset or Tax Accounting Method experience Minimum of four years of experience in Accounting or Tax in public accounting or consulting CPA or a legal background required (JD, LLM) Prior project management experience required Strong understanding of federal and some state R&D rules and relevant court cases Intermediate understanding of tax return mechanics Familiarity with amending tax returns Ability to manage time, multiple engagements, leadership initiatives, and meet deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to client sites Additional Details
Travel as needed to client sites In-person attendance at least two days per week, in alignment with the firm’s hybrid model Salary & Locations
The base salary range for this position in the District of Columbia office is between $121,000 and $181,400. The base salary range in New York, NY and Iselin, NJ offices is also between $121,000 and $181,400. About Us
