Marriott International is seeking a Engineering/Facilities Manager for a temporary position requiring 100% travel. This role manages all engineering/maintenance operations, including the building, grounds and physical plant, with emphasis on safety, security and asset protection. Responsibilities include budget and capital expenditure management, preventative maintenance, energy conservation, regulatory compliance, and supporting emergency response and guest/employee satisfaction through effective communication and training.
Responsibilities
Manage the physical plant, including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and electrical systems. Ensure regulatory compliance with facility regulations and safety standards. Control heat, light and power; recommend and apply energy conservation methods. Develop specifications and administer contracts for services to support building needs. Assign and monitor preventive maintenance and repair work orders; ensure timely and quality completion. Oversee maintenance of grounds, guestrooms, public spaces, restaurants, property vehicles and recreational facilities. Develop long-term preventative maintenance plans and asset protection strategies; oversee execution. Plan projects for renovations or new construction; solicit bids and supervise contractors to ensure timely, on-budget completion. Build relationships with external entities (city building/zoning departments, fire prevention, vendors). Ensure fire crew understands procedures, equipment and alarms; conduct monthly property inspections for upkeep. Inspect guest rooms and common areas to ensure guest satisfaction; assess facility condition to determine work required. Recommend or arrange additional services (painting, repairs, renovations, furnishings/equipment replacements). Select and order equipment, supplies and furnishings; manage parts and inventory. Maintain property life safety systems (fire equipment, sprinklers, alarms) and ensure licenses/certifications are current. Qualifications
Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED with 4 years in engineering/maintenance or related area; or 2-year degree in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major with 2 years in engineering/maintenance or related area. Technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing. Skills and Competencies
Strong leadership to supervise staffing levels and train employees in safety, fire protection, safety and evacuation procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and leadership to identify and implement improvements. Experience with project planning, budgeting, vendor management and regulatory compliance. Pay range: $30.76 to $41.35 per hour.
