Day Camp Unit Leader – Seasonal, On-Site

About the Role Unit Leaders are teachers, educators, and adults with
camp experience
who supervise an entire grade group (unit). They directly oversee designated group counselors and are responsible for ensuring campers have a safe, fun, and engaging summer. Unit Leaders serve as the vital link between campers, staff, and families—building relationships, fostering teamwork, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a team of group counselors within your assigned unit
Supervise all aspects of the camper experience: safety, participation, and well-being
Execute the pre-planned camp program schedule and ensure smooth unit logistics
Meet daily with Directors to review updates on scheduling, group dynamics, and camper needs
Serve as the primary liaison between camp and families, including pre-camp calls and ongoing parent communication throughout the summer
Build strong relationships with campers, staff, and parents to create a positive and memorable camp experience
Qualifications
Prior camp experience strongly preferred (Division Leader, Recreation Management, or other leadership role)
Teaching, education, or recreational programming background preferred
Proven leadership & supervisory skills
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
Ability to manage campers in a dynamic, high-energy outdoor setting
Skilled in problem-solving and conflict resolution
Enthusiastic, responsible, and passionate about creating unforgettable summer experiences
Weekdays only — no weekends required

Our 35-acre camp offers diverse activities like sports, arts, outdoor adventure, and aquatics, ensuring a well-rounded and memorable experience.
