Cook in Washington, DC (2nd Shift)

Join our dynamic team in the hospital's kitchen, where you will be responsible for cooking high-volume meals safely. Our kitchen operates on a cook/serve program, meaning all meals are prepared fresh rather than using frozen ingredients. Your role will include preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with handling prep work in between meals. Responsibilities: Prepare high-volume meals safely, following the cook/serve program. Measure and follow recipes accurately. Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Conduct prep work between meal services. Utilize grill cook techniques on open flat tops and deep fryers to prepare items such as eggs, burgers, hot dogs, and Philly Cheese Steaks. Essential Skills: 2+ years of experience in volume cooking. Proficient in measuring, recipe following, and cutting techniques. Strong customer service skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience in hotels, restaurants, or country clubs is a plus. Food Safe Serve Qualified/ServSafe Certification is preferred but not required. Why Work Here? Candidates must have open availability with work hours ranging from 1pm-9pm, including availability to work every other weekend. The work involves a breakdown of duties: 10% labeling, 60% prep work, and 30% cooking. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, District of Columbia. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
