Job Overview A prominent law firm is seeking a Senior Discovery Attorney with 5 to 7 years of experience to join its eDiscovery team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in advising and supporting case teams through all phases of discovery, from preservation to production, while also providing guidance on pre-litigation information governance and trial preparation. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of attorneys, technologists, and clients to develop efficient and defensible eDiscovery strategies, ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and cost control. Location Washington, DC Duties Advise and support case teams and clients across all phases of the eDiscovery process, including preservation, processing, review, and production. Provide expertise in pre-litigation information governance, deposition/witness preparation, and trial support. Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and clients to design and implement case-specific eDiscovery workflows and protocols. Oversee the quality of work produced by junior attorneys, project attorneys, and service providers, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency. Manage risk mitigation and cost control throughout the eDiscovery lifecycle. Requirements 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support. Must be licensed and in good standing in the state of practice. Strong knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Proven ability to manage discovery in complex litigation and compliance matters. Education Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications Preferred: eDiscovery certifications such as Relativity Certified Pro or Certified E-Discovery Specialist. Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal and technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders. Expertise in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity. Proficiency in Relativity or other eDiscovery platforms (strongly preferred). Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance and risk management. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
