Software Integration Engineer - GMD Weapon Systems

Onsite at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO Estimated Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 Responsibilities: Maintain lab and mininode configurations, including installing/removing/updating Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) modules. Maintain lab and mininode configurations to include adding, removing, updating redhat package manager modules (RPMs) for testing/verification Produce lab runs to test and evaluate new software capabilities as well as perform daily log file management Create scenarios and input files to evaluate specific conditions and software behaviors in the GMD Fire Control software Perform message tracing between portions of GFC software to ensure system functions as intended Investigate and document issues discovered during lab runs and provide log files to software developers Attain/Maintain Security+ certification and continuation education training requirements for a privileged user account Support Scrum and Agile development processes through daily meetings and task tracking. Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law Active Secret Clearance required Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 5+ years of experience (Or Master's and 3+ years of experience) Fundamental understanding of the systems engineering process and experience with system development of a software-centric product (preferably with a system in a system of systems type environment) Experience generating scripts and a fundamental understanding of software development with the ability to troubleshoot and support software integration efforts Experience with working both the macro (overall plan) and micro (detailed execution), levels of software development Desire and curiosity to learn more about the components of GMD and how they fit together and communicate. Preferred Qualifications: Current CompTIA Security+ certification highly preferred Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) or Missile Defense Agency (MDA) experience Experience with application software involving GUIs in a Linux environment Familiarity with programming in C++, Java, Ada Knowledge of Linux GUI tools such as Eclipse and GNAT Programming Studio (GPS) Demonstrated interest in learning GMD architecture and system interactions Experience with application software and systems that contain Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), logical and mathematical solutions in a Linux environment Full-Time position with an employee-owned (ESOP) company, that offers a comprehensive benefits package with excellent medical and dental insurance program, 401(k) plan, employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off, holiday pay, tuition and training reimbursement, and an incentive compensation program.
