Management Company Accountant at Crawford Thomas Recruiting (remote) Salary:
$70,000 – $90,000 annually + modest bonus (based on performance and company profitability) We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Management Company Accountant
to manage the internal accounting for investment managers, including hedge funds and private equity firms. This fully remote role involves ensuring accurate books, timely reporting, and delivering exceptional client service. The ideal candidate has 3–6 years of accounting experience within the hedge fund or private equity space and a strong understanding of management company operations. Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle accounting for management companies, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries Process client invoices via bank websites and online tools Review and approve expense reports in compliance with each client’s policies Track, process, and reconcile all transactions, including intercompany activity Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data Assist with allocations between fund and management company Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients Support month-end and year-end close processes, including 1099 filings Assist in annual budgeting and variance analysis Provide responsive, high-quality service to clients on a daily basis Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance CPA or progress toward CPA preferred 3–6 years of accounting experience in a hedge fund or private equity environment Solid understanding of GAAP and management company accounting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online Experience with Bill.com, Brex, and Expensify preferred Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent time-management, communication, and organizational abilities Ability to work independently in a remote setting Proof of U.S. work eligibility and a suitable workspace About The Company
