The Career Opportunity
Our Amazon Connect Developer is responsible for architecting, building, and optimizing our next-generation chat and voice customer engagement systems. This role will design and implement contact flows, develop and integrate chatbots, and enhance the agent and customer experience. This position can be based remotely in the U.S. or in our San Diego, CA office with a hybrid work schedule.
Areas Of Accountability
The Amazon Connect Developer has responsibility for the following outcomes:
Contact Flow Architecture: Design, build, and maintain seamless voice and chat contact flows using Amazon Connect, Lex, and Lambda to deliver exceptional self-service and assisted-service experiences. System Integration & Optimization: Develop and integrate conversational chatbots with backend systems (e.g., CRM, ERP) and continuously optimize system performance by analyzing contact metrics to identify and resolve bottlenecks. Infrastructure and Deployment: Author and maintain serverless functions and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation/CDK) to ensure robust, scalable, and repeatable provisioning of all related AWS resources.
Competencies For Success
Minimum of three (3) years of experience architecting and managing AWS solutions, with at least two (2) years of hands-on experience specifically with Amazon Connect. Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js) and/or Python for Lambda development. Deep familiarity with Amazon Lex, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and IAM. Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation or CDK). Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into intuitive, high-availability contact experiences with a solid grasp of telephony, chat best practices, and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
